2. What the service is

Corvus Lingua is a language-learning application. It takes open-access academic texts and produces reading, grammar, and vocabulary material to help you study them, together with tools to review what you have learned.

Some of that material is produced by automated language models. It is intended strictly as a learning aid and may contain occasional inaccuracies or non-standard interpretations. It is not academic advice, translation certification, or a substitute for your own independent reading of the source text. Do not rely on it where accuracy carries significant real-world or academic consequences.

3. Your account

You need an account to use the app. You are responsible for keeping access credentials secure, and for all activity carried out through your account. One account is personal to one individual learner; accounts may not be shared, rented, sold, or transferred. You must be of legal age to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and at least 13 years old in any case.

4. Subscriptions and payment

Corvus Lingua offers free access with usage limits and optional paid access. Mobile subscriptions are purchased through Google Play or the App Store, subject to the terms shown by that store at checkout. We do not process or store your payment card numbers or banking information.

• The price, billing cycle, and renewal terms shown at checkout in your store apply.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel auto-renewal under your store's terms. Manage this in Google Play subscriptions or App Store subscriptions.
• We do not offer additional voluntary refunds solely for a change of mind. This does not exclude mandatory withdrawal, cancellation, refund or other consumer rights, or Google Play and App Store refund decisions. Where a lawful exception to withdrawal applies to digital content or a service already supplied, that exception applies only when its legal conditions are met. Merely opening study material or accepting these terms does not waive all statutory rights.
• Use the in-app "Restore purchases" action after reinstalling or changing devices. Sign in to the same Corvus Lingua account to recover its saved progress and preserved time. Purchase restoration does not recover permanently deleted learning data.

Price changes and renewal notices are handled under the applicable store's terms and consumer law.

Freeze and resume your account

In the app, open Profile → Personal information → Freeze account and choose 7, 30 or 90 days. Learning access stops and your existing progress and unused paid service time are preserved. At the displayed end date, your account resumes automatically and your preserved paid-time timer restarts, even if you do not sign in. We send an email notification to your account address; email delays do not postpone the resume date. You may choose Resume account to return early. There is no limit on how often you freeze, but there is no indefinite-freeze option. Freezing does not replenish consumed time or reset usage quotas. Accounts awaiting deletion or a billing review do not automatically resume.

Freezing is not a store billing pause. Cancel auto-renewal in the store if you do not want further charges. Your store's renewal dates do not move when you freeze. Confirmed new paid coverage while frozen is added to your preserved service time without duplicating overlapping periods. Refunds, revocations and purchase transfers may require adjustment of the associated access; contact support if your balance looks wrong.

Freezing keeps the account and learning data so you can return. It does not replace your right to request permanent deletion. Once deletion is completed, your progress and account-linked preserved time cannot be restored. Contact corvuslingua@gmail.com for help.

5. Fair use

Generating contextual linguistic and syntactic analyses requires server and AI computing resources, so usage limits apply across all tiers. The paid tier provides a generous allowance designed for dedicated academic study, but is not unlimited. Tier allowances are displayed in the app and may be adjusted if necessary to maintain server stability; we will not retroactively reduce quotas in a way that deprives you of value already purchased.

6. What you may not do

• Access the service by automated scrapers, scripts, bots, or emulated clients to harvest or batch-generate text.
• Repackage, redistribute, or resell generated study analyses as a standalone dataset or commercial product.
• Bypass or attempt to circumvent authentication, entitlement checks, or rate limits.
• Interfere with server integrity or disrupt other learners' access to the service.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to infringe third-party rights.

You are naturally encouraged to use all generated analyses for your own personal research, academic writing preparation, study notes, and scholarly citation.

7. Source texts and licensing

The academic papers analysed in Corvus Lingua originate from open-access academic repositories and are utilised only where explicit open licences permit — primarily Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) and public domain material. Full bibliographic citations, authors, and source links are provided. Copyright in the underlying research abstracts remains with the respective authors and original publishers.

If you hold rights in a paper displayed in the app and believe its inclusion is inconsistent with its open-access terms, email corvuslingua@gmail.com and it will be immediately taken down while reviewed.

8. Our rights, and yours

The Corvus Lingua application, brand, interface design, analytical prompt architecture, and software code are the intellectual property of the operator. Using the service does not transfer intellectual property ownership to you.

Your personal data — including personal notes, bookmarks, custom study lists, and review progress — remains yours. We process it solely to deliver the service to you.

9. Availability and changes

We endeavour to maintain high service availability but do not warrant that the application will be completely uninterrupted or error-free. Features and supported paper repositories may evolve as the service grows. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.

10. Liability

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of research data, or decisions made based upon automated language model output. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer protection laws.

11. Ending the agreement

You may take a break by freezing your account, or request permanent account deletion — see Delete your account. Neither action automatically cancels Google Play or App Store auto-renewal. Manage renewal separately in the store. Your mandatory rights to terminate the agreement and obtain any legally required repayment remain unaffected.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Ankara have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory non-waivable statutory consumer protections in your country of residence.
